The right to a leave of absence from class is granted to:
- pregnant students;
- students-parents - provided that they submit a request for such a leave within one year from the date their child has been born.
In justified cases, students may be granted a leave, in particular due to the following circumstances:
- suffering from a prolonged illness;
- occurrence of significant fortuitous events;
- pursuing studies abroad.
The period of leave is to be determined by the Rector, taking into account the record of a given student so far, and the possibility of further pursuit of their studies. The leave of absence is granted usually for a period of a full academic year or one semester.
During a leave of absence from classes at the University, the student retains their student rights, but they may not take part in classes or assessments, or take examinations, excluding serving an internship.
