What is a publication slot? How to establish an employee’s slots?

A publication slot is a measure of an author’s share in a publication (individual contribution). It is important especially in the case of multi-author publications as well as when it comes to determining the limits of one’s achievements. When it comes to the number of publications, it refers to the sum of individual shares, meaning the sum of slots.
In the case of a single-author publication, the share amounts to 1. In the case of multi-author publications, the share depends on:

• the overall value of a given publication,
• the number of co-authors from a given entity and a given discipline,
• the number of all authors contributing to the publication.

The formula used to calculate an author’s individual share in a multi-author publication:
U=P/Pc×1/k
where:
P – scientific publication’s conversion value in points,
Pc – scientific publication’s overall value in points,
k – number of co-authors being persons referred to in § 11 section 1, who have authorised the evaluated entity to present a given scientific publication as an achievement in a given scientific discipline.
