What documents need to be submitted to KU in the case of a transfer from another higher education institution?

A person intending to transfer to KU is obliged to submit the following documents:
  • a valid certificate of student enrollment at the current higher education institution (confirming the person’s active student status) and a permission to leave the current higher education institution issued by the higher education institution in question
  • an application to be admitted to KU (indicating the field of study and the form of study),
  • a certificate documenting the courses passed by the student, issued by the person’s current higher education institution, including the names of the courses passed, the form and the number of hours of instruction, the obtained grades, and the number of ECTS credits,
  • the syllabuses of the courses passed, certified by the person’s current higher education institution, including: the objectives, the outcomes, the methods of teaching, the forms of assessment, the content;
  • obligatory language certificate for programmes taught in English: a language certificate to confirm their competence in the English language, e.g. FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC, CEIBT, issued by Cambridge University; IELTS (6.0 points or more); TOEFL IBT (87 points or more); TOEIC (at least 700 test points); LCCI (English for Business level 2,3,4); London Test of English certificates (PEARSON) – levels 3,4,5 (EDEXCEL certificates).
A student can be exempt from the obligation to submit an external certificate of knowledge of the English language if their secondary school graduation certificate or their bachelor’s diploma prove that English has been their language of instruction or that it is their native language.
Polish citizens wishing to study a programme taught in English need to obtain a score of at least 95% on their basic-level ‘Matura’ examination in English and 80% on their extended-level ‘Matura’ examination in English.

The rector considers mainly the consistency of the learning outcomes on the level of the field of study and of the courses passed so far within the framework of one’s current studies with the learning outcomes adopted for the relevant field of study at KU. The consistency of other elements included in the submitted syllabuses with KU standards is assessed as well.

The rector’s decision can be either to admit the applicant to study at KU in the semester requested or other, or to refuse to admit the applicant to KU.
