What are elective courses?

Elective courses, as the name suggests, are courses students can choose to pursue from among a specific set of courses. Elective courses can be available in different semesters, depending on the programme and field of study. Students choose elective courses online. The selection takes place in 2 rounds (in the case of law: 1 round).  Notifications about the choice made, the dates, and suggested elective courses are sent to students to their university inbox.
In the case of programmes that feature a so-called mobility window (first-cycle studies, management taught in English, first-cycle studies, finance and accounting taught in English, and second-cycle studies, finance and accounting taught in English), elective courses give students more freedom to take advantage of the opportunity to go on an international exchange. Elective courses effectively minimise the potential curriculum differences resulting from pursuing some part of one’s studies at a partner higher education institution.
